Energy demand and energy supply for Austria / EU. Overview of the thermodynamic fundamentals of energy conversion and introduction to the energy use (heat, electricity, fuels).
Renewable energy sources: use of solar energy for thermal use and photovoltaics, combustion calculation, thermo-chemical biomass conversion (pyrolysis, gasification, combustion, hydrothermal processes), hydropower (run-of-river, reservoir and storage power plant), geotherma energy
The field trip is part of the LVA and therefore mandatory. Participation contributes to the assessment of the course to 20%.
Registration for the excursion is mandatory. This is done through a re-registration of the default group on the field trip group.

The aim of the course is to teach both the basics as well as the state of art for the implementation of renewable resources for energy production.
