Based on the lecture Mechanical and Thermal Process Technology II (LVA 893.300), modern seperation processes which are of increasing importance for food and biotechnology are treated more thoroughly. Additionally, the very important subject of chemical reaction technology is treated systematically starting from basic knowledge of reaction equilibria and kinetics and moving to the design of reactors. Finally, it is shown how the knoledge of single unit operations can be integrated to full processes.
