Content

This course will examine contemporary theories, debates, and design practices of open space making. It examines, in a variety of contexts, the multivalent forms of modern and contemporary landscape design. Topics: Artificial Landscape - Sustainable Landscape Architecture - Open Spaces in Urban Renewal - Infrastructure and Landscape - Memorial Sites - Garden Exhibitions - Architecture and Landscape - Urban Development and Landscape.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The purpose of this course is twofold. The first is to analyze the role of landscape architecture as a constituent element of the evolving visual environment of the contemporary cities; the second is to broaden the knowledge within the territory of design and intervention in which designers and planners operate.
