Content

The course aims to widen the awareness of the students about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations as well as to explore the role of animal breeding in this context. The tasks will involve group work at BOKU, with a unique aspect related to the SDGs and a potential contribution of animal breeding.

At the enad of the semester a final online meeting will be held with students at SLU (Sweden), NMBU (Norway) and AgroParisTech (France), who worked on parallel projects related to SDGs. At the final meeting students discuss their views and experiences on the SDGs, from the aspect they studied throughout the semester.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After the completion of the course the students will be able to interpret the position and importance of animal breeding in relation to the SDGs. They will work on exercises in workgroup dynamics and aim-oriented working plan activities.
