Description and Analysis of theoretical and empirical aspects of agricultural foreign trade. Repetition of basic concepts (comparative advantage, gains from trade, elasticities, resource endowment and trade); measuring protection and gains from trade: border interventions (taxes, subsidies, quotas); commodity programs and world trade; macroeconomic policy and trade; market power and political-economic aspects; institutions and world agricultural trade; agricultural trade models.

The lecture aims to establish and reinforce the students understanding of basic elements and principles in the area of agricultural trade being of relevance for students of LW. This lecture should enable students to answer practical questions out of this area in an appropriate and logically correct way.
