The lecture will be held by several experts in the field of environmental and biotechnological analysis. The environmental compartments soil, water and air, but also the biota are discussed and the current chemical analytical methods for analysis of pollutants and contaminants are explained:

- Previous knowledge expected
It is strongly recommended that the course "Analytical Chemistry (771106)" is completed before undertaking in this course.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
The learning outcomes of the course are closely related to the theme of "Environmental Chemistry and Analysis" and should reinforce the understanding of chemical processes and relationships in the environment, which are the basis for making assessments of current environmental states and therefore also for the selection of appropriate measures to improve undesirable situations.
The acquired knowledge from this course plays an important role in relation to the application of the precautionary principle and prevention of errors. Via the presentation of environmental chemistry for special topics as part of the assessment process, students will acquire in-depth knowledge of modern environmental analysis techniques and also improve their skills for the presentation of scientific results and findings.
