Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

•Impart a general view on methods of gain in knowledge
•Instruct students how to practically carry out scientific research
•Train students to acquire expressiveness and verbal skills as well as methodologically sound working ability

At the end of the course students are able to
•understand different epistemological theses and have a general view on categories and methods of scientific work,
•use different methods of gain in knowledge and procedures of literature research competently,
•quote and create tables and figures in a professional manner,
•recognise scientific misconduct and react to it adequately,
•describe characteristic scientific career paths as they are familiar with organisational structures in science and academia,
•plan and implement scientific work (publications, seminar, bachelor and master theses),
•isolate research themes and questions,
•read scientific work critically as well as to formulate and layout such texts themselves,
•design scientific posters and present scientific contents.
