4. Regulation and prediction of feed intake of dairy cows
5. Mobilisation and metabolism of dairy cows
6. Energy supply of dairy cows, fattening cattle and small ruminants
7. Protein supply of dairy cows, fattening cattle and small ruminants

Previous knowledge expected

Courses in animal nutrition, advanced animal nutrition, nutritional value of feedingstuff, and feeding management are recommended and necessary for following the course.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Understanding the basic digestion process and metabolism of ruminants (nutritional value of feedingstuff, digestion process, especially in the rumen, utilization of nutrients in metabolism, i.e. for maintenance and product synthesis). Knowledge of feed evaluation, regulation and prediction of feed intake, energy metabolism, protein metabolism.
