Content

Through the different activities, the students will complete their own and individual roadmap with focus on:
-Inter- and transdisciplinarity skills based on cross-sectorial mindset
-Sustainability competences including system thinking, strategic competences, normative competence
-Personal and interpersonal skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, among others
-International (digital) communication and collaboration skills
-Management and entrepreneurial skills
Each student will complete a series of activities, among which could be:
-Participation in the excursion EBU journey, for which 6 students of each EBU partner will be selected
-Participation in a bioeconomy-related MOOC
-Participation in soft-skill training sessions including digital skills and lifelong learning programs
-Participation in events/competitions/workshops related to bioeconomy
-Being proactive within the bioeconomy environment (entrepreneurship / activity in a bioeconomy student group / social media group)
EBU journey excursion: the students will meet during 5 days in one of the EBU partner locations (2022: Bologna) and work in inter-disciplinary teams in different activities, among which a Bioeconomy challenge will be organized that the students will conduct. Its focus will differ every year depending on the latest needs and challenges of the bioeconomy in Europe

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

By the end of the course the students are provided with important skills, competences and expertise to becoming the professionals that are needed for the transformation towards a bioeconomy. Under the framework of the strategic partnership EBU label, the students will complete a series of activities to develop their profile within the Bioeconomy field. This involves the acquisition of academic knowledge as well as soft-skills in an international context.
After successful completion of this course students are expected to be able to:
- Work in international and inter- and transdisciplinarity groups
- Develop a clear individual profile within the bioeconomy
- Understand how the bioeconomy relates to specific research fields
- Be an active member of the bioeconomy at European level
