Content

Th content of the course comprises a repitition and deepening of hydrological methods, the operation with real hydrological data and the application of the hydrological model HEC-RAS. The students have to give oral presentations on the modelling results.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The objective of the course is the gain of deeper knowledge in runoff hydrology with a focus on the modelling of the relevant processes. This includes the computation of areal rainfall, the estimation of rainfall excess and the conceptualisation of the runoff formation and runoff routing processes. The participants will have hand on computer excercises and will apply the hydrological software HEC-HMS. After passing the course the students should be able to assess the data demand and the required model concepts and they should be familiar with the procedures of model calibration and validation.
