The aims of this lecture are to present the basic knowledge necessary to solve problems related with sediment transport and river morpholgy. The lack and surplus of sediments leads to the very actual problem of river bed degradation and reservoir sedimentation with ecological, technical and economical negative consequences. In the lecture processes are discussed and help to understand this problem and to find solutions.
