Content

The measurement technique deals with devices and methods for the determination of physical quantities (for example: length, mass, force, pressure, electric current, temperature or time). Therefore, the measuring technology in conjunction with control technology is a requirement of automation technology.

In this practical course the students will be introduced to basic measurement techniques (electrical and non-electrical quantities, e.g. Temperature, resistance) as well as preparation and transmission of electrical signals for further processing in microcontroller systems.

The students are introduced to basics in programming by implementing simple examples of microcontroller systems by programming microcontroler systems (Arduinos) or realize simple control tasks. Each participant should be able to program and implement the selected examples himself. Examples could be data logging or recording of a series of measured values.

Please bring a laptop on which can be programmed!

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After joining this practical training, the student knows basic methods of measuring electrical and non-electrcial quantities as well as the transmission and processing of such quantities in mikrocontroller based computer systems.
