Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The aim of the course is to teach the basics of geographic information systems. In the lecture part, the general functioning of a GIS and its possible applications are taught. The focus of the exercises is to teach the students how to work practically with a GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS). The basic functionality of a GIS is practised on the basis of a project (vector and raster data available).
