Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of the lecture, the students have bascic knowledge of the major metabolic pathways and other physiological processes in plants, such as respiration, photosynthesis, mineral nutrition and material transport. The students are able to apply their knowledge of plant physiology to aspects of plant production and have acquired a solid basis for subsequent plant-related courses in agricultural sciences. Moreover, the students have the capability to analyze the physiological response of plants to the environment in the context of current problems. For instance, students are able to assess critically the possible impact of increases in atmospheric CO2 on the productivity of crop plants.
