Content

The most important plant families - focus: Grassland and arable land; partially outdoor teaching.

* The most important plant families with a focus on the domestic cultural landscape (features, ecological and phytochemical properties; relevance to humans: crops, medicinal plants, poisonous plants) are presented; it also emphasis on kinship/evolutionary relationships.

* Selected aspects of ecology, for example, location factors; individuals, populations, ecosystems; Life forms, lifecycles, strategies, reproduction, pollination and propagation are taken into account by way of example.

* A basic understanding of science classification (phylogeny), taxonomy and evolution research is introduced.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Understanding of the philosophy and methods of biosystematic science. Training in the identification of plant families.
