Students perform practical soil bioengineering work at flowing waters or slopes. Sites are chosen throughout Austria, in order to ensure realistic training. The work on site takes 4 days. The work involving various construction types is then presented in a technical report, and the course is rounded off by a group presentation of the work performed.

- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
Teaching the craftsmanship of soil bioengineering. The theoretical knowledge is solidified by practical training which provides an active understanding of construction methods through their actual execution. The practical is held on live sites, using excavators and other equipment, so that students are given an insight into site organisation.
A written documentation and oral presentation requires students to practise self-presentation.
