Lecture: Differentiation and difference. Laplace operator in cartesian and spherical coordinates. Heat equation and diffusion equation in cartesian and spherical coordinates. Continuous and discrete models of these differential equations.
Exercises: The students present mathematical aspects of their planned or ongoing master thesis or dissertation and we discuss the mathematics.
