Content

Labour is a central term in a serious debate on agriculture. It impliments a social component that will help to understand historical developments of rural economies and agriculture, and their implications on gender relations.

The lecture will give a historical overview on the development of labour conditions in rural areas, and will discuss workers' resistance within concrete examples of organizing.

The students should be able to develop an understanding of rural economy from the
perspective of those working.
