The “Scientific Skills” class aims at providing PhD and master students with tools and tips for best communication of scientific results - in oral, visual and written form.
The class will provide an overview and exercises on the following topics:
•Clear and concise scientific writing, referencing and displaying results
•How to structure and present posters and talks
•Manuscript preparation and abstract writing
•Peer review process and cover letters
•Thesis and grant proposal writing
- Previous knowledge expected
Phd and master students, who are familiar with basics of scientific working
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
On completion of this course you should..:
•..be aware of the relevance of communication skills in science.
•..be able to write using clear and concise scientific language.
•..be able to create and conduct oral and poster presentations to a variety of audiences.
