Genetic variability, selection and adaptation, reproductive barriers, hybridization. Techniques of molecular biology to study genetic variability. Plant genome research.

Evolution of important crop plants. Examples ..

Cereal grains (wheat, barley, rice, maize).
Starch and sugar plants (potato, sugar beet, sugarcane, tropical starch plants).
Protein plants (soybean).
Oil and fibre plants.

Previous knowledge expected

Knowledge of botany, biology and genetics.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
