Presentation of the individual thesis topic and the broader framework of the scientific area by the PhD student.

Supported by the supervisor, the participants will be provided with the overall background, the state-of-the-art of the scientific debate and the overall significance with respect to interdisciplinary hazard and risk research.

In-depth knowledge of the interdisciplinary field of hazard and risk (research) in Alpine regions under Global Change (HADRIAN).

Getting to know different research methods and concepts in an interdisciplinary context of mountain research.

Becoming familiar with the research foci within the Doctoral School and beyond.
