This course contains 3 experiments:
1. Immunological detection of plant viruses (ELISA)
2. DNA fingerprinting of Phytophthora strains
3. RT-PCR detection of plant RNA viruses
In addition to the experiments that will be conducted by the students basic background information will be given concerning the different detection methods.

Students will have basic knowledge of laboratory methods for plant pathogen detection, including ELISA and PCR. Students will be able to perform ELISA and PCR experiments.
