Content

Preparation and use of growth media; methods of desinfection and sterilisation; isolation, preservation and maintenance of fungi; stimulation of fructification and sporulation; light and electron microscopy; physiological and biochemical tests; compatibility tests; application of immunological and molecular biological methods

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After successful completion of the course students are familiar with the techniques and working methods used in a forest pathology/mycology-lab. Thus, future MS- and PhD students in forest pathology/phytopathology are prepared to perform experimental work in this field.
