Fundamental principles of zoology: cell, cellular respiration, cell division, evolution, origin of species, evolution of biological diversity, nutrition, nervous systems, musculature, sensory organs.

Important animals for agriculture: beneficials, pests.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students having successfully passed the exam have basic knowledge upon selected subjects of zoology, and are able to detect and explain appropriate context. Students gain insight into the life of animals from the cell towards tissues, organ systems and organisms. They get to know basic processes within cells and understand the consequences these processes have for the whole organism. Students attain elementary knowledge in zoology, which gives them a good basis for further biology lectures.
