Theories and modells of site specific reactions of plants; fundamental niches and realized niches; concept of "indicator values of plants" and ecological bioindication; indicator systems; calculations with indicator values; limits of use of indicator values; strenght and weakness of plant indicator systems.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Participants should recognise the differing amplitudes and optima of plant species rection to site conditions (Soil, climate, history of utilisation). In consequence, plants can be used as indicators for site conditions and site history. The students will be teached the options and limits of this indirect technique of evaluating site conditions.
