The individual internship within the EMABG aims to offer students the opportunity to learn about the needs of national and international organizations and companies in the field of animal breeding and genetics.

The internship should also contain a physcal stay at the location of the industry partner, for an agreed duration.

The internship will be overseen by a representative of the industry partner and a local mentor at BOKU.

Previous knowledge expected

Good overview of the animal breeding and genetics; basics of animal genomics

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Upon the completion of the internship course the student will acquire skills and competences that are needed in a professional working (industry) environment. Within this project the students will work on competences that are needed in a professional working (industry) environment. In particular these competences will include a range of transversal skills, such as critical thinking, inter- and intra-personal skills.
