Content

The course offers a summary of the appropriate specifications of the natural disaster right laid out interdisciplinarily. Areas of the room police law, the planning and building laws and regulations, the forest law (insb of the torrent and avalanche barriers), the water right as well as the private neighbor right were included. The teaching contents are worked out and discussed jointly using decided cases of the Supreme Court of justice and the Higher Administrative Court from the recent past as far as possible.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The legal framework conditions represent an essential element of the regime to the prevention of natural disasters in the context of the interdisciplinary master studies' “alpine nature dangers”. The substantial legal bases shall be conveyed to the students of master course, who are trained in the area of the alpine nature dangers as experts. A critical discussion about the legal bases as well as a discussion about improvement options or alternative legal framework conditions should be carried out in the context of the teaching event.
