The basic principles underlying the simulation of surface runoff and soil erosion; different modelling approaches; different soil erosion models, assessment of average soil erosion and sediment yield using GIS linked erosion model

The aim of these lectures is to teach the students the current state of knowledge about surface runoff and soil erosion.
Students are able based on the problem statement to select appropriate simulation models and to apply them. Based on the obtained results they can make decisions for soil conservation measures and evaluate their efficiency.
