Content

Focus of the lecture is the explanation of modern surveying instruments, of computers for post-processing of measured data and of interfaces as well as the presentation of public data basis within the Internet. In contrast to the fundamental surveying lectures of the institute in this course all the above mentioned components will be treated in its entirety with regard to the automatisation of measurements, continuous digital data flow, the semi-automatic or automatic calculation of measurements and presentation of results.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The aim of this lecture is to become acquainted with actual possibilities of modern methods of data acquisition and data processing in surveying: from the (semi-)automatic measurement to the presentation of results in a Geographic Information System. The students will get an overview of modern surveying applications fitted to their major field of studies to be able for decision making in regard to practical operation of automatic surveying techniques.
