Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Examination of the various interactions between landscape and architecture in history and present. The goal is to stimulate the independent reflection on the progressive structural transformation of the landscape and to sharpen the ability to judge the architectural quality of buildings and their appropriateness in the landscape. The lecture is intended to contribute to the formation of a factual-argumentative basis for discussions with planners from various disciplines, authorities and the affected population, and to promote a critical awareness of formulaic, simplistic approaches towards building design.
