Introduction into sustainability concepts related to livestock production systems, sustainability as integral element of process quality for food of animal origin;
elements of sustainability, system boundaries and approaches to sustainability assessement;
discussion of approaches to analyse and improve sustainability criteria on the basis of selected case studies.

Basic knowledge of agricultural production, agroecology and especially of livestock breeding, husbandry and feeding (bachelor level).

Obtaining an overview of sustainability concepts related to the agricultural production of food of animal origin.
Knowing important sustainability traits and factors affecting them.
Ability to identify and to analyse sustainability aspects related to supply chains for food of animal origin.
