- Specific values for construction of fully functional fish pass (recommended discharges...)
- Typical shortcomings in the execution of planning and construction of fish passes (sediment transport and periodic mainenance)
- Biotic verification of operation (basic principles and opportunities)

Exercise: Interpretation and evaluation of existing planning concepts
Field Exercise: Excursion to different fish pass types, biotic verification of operation (water depth, flow velocity, discharge,...)

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

To understand the the basic principles of fish pass design, including important decision criteria (location, swimming performance of fish, type of continuum disruption,...), specific values for construction, typical shortcomings and the biotic verification of peration.
