Content

Many practical tasks an engineer faces require the development and application of simple algorithms, or can at least be significantly simplified. .

This course aims at conveying
(1) a basic understanding of code development
(2) within the frameworks of data analysis and model simulation.

(3) Matlab and
(4) Delphi
serve as primary tools to illustrate the potential of programming as well as introduce the basic principles.

The course ultimately focuses on automated
(5) import of measurement data in various source formats
(6) data filtering, processing, and finally
(7) plotting

Previous knowledge expected

spread sheet calculation, basic knowledge in core areas of KTWW: mechanics, statics, hydraulics, statistics, geotechnics

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students acquire a basic understanding of code development and can independently implement small problems in Matlab and Delphi. Attendance gain the expertise to analyse a given technical problem, find a computer orientated representation and implement an automated routine by applying the obtained knowledge and skill to acquire missing information from various sources.
