Content

Renewable Energy in Public Open Space

Area in SoSe 2024: The site is located in the Northern bank of the New Danube, between Kaisermühlenbrücke and the Vienna City Beach Club. The Site visit will be held on March 1st, 2024.
During the design workshop, ideas and concepts for the introduction of renewable energy in urban open space will be developed and discussed. The aim is to link landscape architecture, land art and renewable energy.
During the Summer Semester of 2024 students and tutors from the University of Malta will also participate in the workshop.

The thematic basics will be conveyed through research projects. The workshop will focus on idea generation and creative processes.

Design workshop dates: March 1st 2024 – March 8th 2024.
Core working hours on all workshop days are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; on March 8th from 9:00 - 12:00. Attendance is compulsory.

Previous knowledge expected

The workshop is open to students of the Master program ‘Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning’.
Basic knowledge in ideation, design, plan drawing, and visualization is expected.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students will gain knowledge on the use of renewable energy in urban open space and deepen their skills in communicating ideas and concepts graphically.
