Content

In the course methods for the assessment of impacts from products along the life cycle in the dimension of sustainability are presented. The options for single life cycle stages are demonstrated as Ecodesign (design phase), ecolabels (sustainable consumption) and end-of life management. The application of methods and tools in different branches is highlighted.

Previous knowledge expected

ideally basic knowledge of waste management and basics in natural sciences

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Participants have knowledge on methods for the life-cycle orientated assessment of products with respect to economic, environmental and social impacts. They are able to comprehend their application for production systems and services. Another aim of this English-language course is to deepen the technical language of LCA in English, which is particularly important in this field, for example by reviewing scientific publications.
