Frequently occurring Infectious diseases and their corresponding pathogenic agents like bacteria and viruses, epidemiology, laboratory diagnostic, anti-infective drugs, therapeutic and prophylactic measures;

Previous knowledge expected

General microbiology lecture and practical course is recommended

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

This lecture gives students an overview of frequently occurring infectious disease and their corresponding pathogens and the currently available therapies. Students are able to compare pathogens and some of the non-pathogenic organisms they worked with in a practical course.
