Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After attending lectures in forest history, the students should be able to analyse different developments of forest utilization in a greater historical, socio-economical and cultural context. Concerning the possibilities and restrictions in using wood, forests and landscapes, they also should have a wider comprehension, which is not only the result of narrow views and so called typical forest traditions, but the foundation of a fair dialogue between different groups of landscape users and users of natural resources.
