Content

This lecturs is a cooperation of BOKU und Caritas and aims to transfer ecological knowledge to people living in resideces provided by Caritas. Therefore students will be trained to become „Environmental Coaches“ to visit these residences for elderly people, asylum seekers and others.

Each student will be matched with a residence and become their coach. Sessions of knowledge input will alternate several times with students visiting his/her reseidence to work with the clients.

The BOKU lecuture will start in winter semester and continue in summersemester. It is expected, that students will participate in both semesters.

Previous knowledge expected

General interest in ecological issues, social skills and a Criminal Records Bureau clearence.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The aim of the lecture is gaining knowledge and experience in communicating ecological issues to people with special needs, especially in the field of waste management, alimentation, mobility and energy. They should create participatice lectures for their clients and thus transfer their knowledge and make their clients develope interest in ecological issues themselves.
