Content

Systematic and phylogeny of the animal kingdom - homology, analogy, convergency, ontogenesis and basic structural types of animals. Biology and ecology of forest relevant invertebrates and vertebrates (Plathelminthes, nematodes, tapeworms, annelids, arthropods, molluscs, birds, and mammals). Evolution of horses and ruminants, energy metabolism, overwintering and nutrition.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Introduction to systematics, reproduction and developmental physiology, parasitology, and further animal - host interactions, predators etc., focussing on groups of organisms relevant to forestry.
