The course covers the following thematic areas of Austrian forest policy. These thematic areas are discussed by presenting problem structures, the major policy actors and their preferences as well as the most significant forest policy instruments in the respective issue areas:
•Forest ownership
•Competing economic interests in forests (multiple use forestry, job markets in forestry, e.g.)
•Competing economic and ecological interests in forests (forestry and nature protection, forestry and air pollution, e.g.)
•Competing economic and social interests in forests (recreation, soil and water protection, protective forests)
•Landscape planning
•Forest Authorities
•Interest Groups in the Austrian forest policy domain
