Introduction, selection, production system and breeding pyramid, breeding program (breeding goal, economic weights, herdbook, performance testing, estimation of breeding values and data-information-systems, selection, mating and reproduction technologies, genetic gain, genetic trend, transfer of genetic gain), basic structures of breeding programs (cooperative breeding programs, nucleus breeding programs), organisation of animal breeding (animal breeding organisations, organisations for artificial insemination + embryo transfer, organisations for performance testing and data processing).

Deepening the theoretical knowledge in animal breeding and linking up with practical animal breeding (mainly in Austria). Understanding the basic concept of a breeding program and the organisation of running a breeding program. Knowledge of breeding organisations.
