-
Profound knowledge of the fundmentals of soil science and soil chemistry at bachelor level (i.e., at least equivalent to the learning outcomes of course 911.014 - Soil Science Refresher)
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
The students:
- Know about some major problems of soil pollution, risk assessment and risk management of polluted soils.
- can distinguish between various groups of pollutants (e.g. metals, metalloids, organic compounds) in terms of their chemical properties and fate in the soil environment (solubility, mobility, bioavailability);
- know about important aspects of risk assessment of polluted soils including pollution pathways and endpoints
- know about important approaches / technologies for the management and the remediation of polluted soils, can critically discuss their advantages and drawbacks;
- Apply this knowledge to specific case studies(homework)
