Disturbance ecology and response of forest ecosystems to different disturbances; drivers of ecosystem dynamics; regeneration ecology; the role of herbivory and pathogens in ecosystem dynamics

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students who successfully passed the course, have a good understanding of dynamic processes in terrestrial ecosystems. They know the most important methods in ecosystem dynamics and are able to use them. They are able to: (1) apply these methods in a teamwork, (2) gather data, (3) analyse it, (4) interpret it and (5) write a small scientific report on the basic findings and their implications for management and nature conservation.
