The general biological understanding of wood has to be awoken and deepened. The fundamental knowledge of the primary and secondary structure in plants are the supposition. A very important point are the developmental aspects from the meristem to the whole plant. Besides, the relation between structure and function should be shown and the reaction of wood to environmental factors, wound, stress, and so on are demonstrated. Moreover, it is shown how to combine fundamental knowledge with practical doing.
