- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
After completing the course the students will be able to
1 list and evaluate methods for estimating the gross stocking volume of a forest stand
2 independently conduct 3P-sampling and calculate estimators from the obtained data
3 express the possibilities of ground based LiDAR in forestry applications and list the three most important advantages
4 acquire person-carried laser-scanning data by following 5 golden rules of data capturing
5 apply software for extracting single tree measurements from 3D point clouds
6 compose and write a coherent method chapter in the style of scientific reports
