Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:
•Know the basic principles of diagnosis, biology and control measures of economic important stored product pests and diseases.
•Understand the ecology of stored product pests.
•Identify the most important pests and diseases of stored products (cereals, fruits, vegetables).
•Assess qualitative and quantitative post-harvest changes and storage losses.
•Apply methods of early detection of infestations and biotechnical monitoring techniques.
•Know techniques of fresh storage and stockpiling, preventive storage techniques, mechanical and physical methods for control of stored products pests and diseases.
•Apply methods of biological and chemical stored products protection.
