‘Agroecology’ has evolved from a historically purely natural scientific term to a research discipline in natural and social sciences, a practice and a civil society movement. Thereby, agroecology has become firmly established in national and international scientific and civil society discourses on agriculture and food system transformations as well as in political positions and legal texts. In this course, students get introduced and learn to reflect on agroecological discourses and to discuss and envision approaches for the sustainable transformation of agriculture and food systems.
