Content

Formulating a linear programming (LP) exercise. Marginal costing and LP analysis on the computer. Practical planning exercise (starting the business, defining the production methods, calculating margins, calculating the capital costs of planned investment, setting-up a linear programming model, model results (actual situation, alternative scenarios), interpreting the results). Calculating fixed costs, profit, maximum debt servicing potentials and equity capital information.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students undertake farm planning exercises on the PC and interpret and evaluate the results.
