Students will extend their Linux skills by applying shell commands for file management, information extraction, and automated processing of files. They will learn how to track the computational load while running heavy jobs on a high-performance Linux cluster. They will analyze data sets using various Linux command-line tools including sed and awk on an advanced level. They will automate their workflows by writing shell scripts.
Linux skills taught in the course "Computing skills for biotechnology" will be brushed up and extended.
