Introductory lectures

Literature, laboratory, green house work (project type work) relevant for the development of in situ remediation technology and presentations by the participants
--> 2 groups (1 morning, 1 afternoon) on 4 days (mondays) on the campus Tulln.

Previous knowledge expected

We receommend parallel attandence of course 911.336 (Soil Pollution and Remediation) as in this will provide theoretical information and an overview on the topic..

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Introduction to research techniques and methods for the development of novel, cost-efficient, sustainable in situ remediation technology for contaminated soils and sediments. The emphasis is on phytoremediation, chemical in-situ fixation using soil amendments and natural attenuation.
